Things are not what they seem

Writer's picture: Mia LeeMia Lee

One theme in Macbeth that is evident early on, with the 3 witches chanting "Fair is Foul and Foul is Fair..." is that things are not what they seem.

Have you ever experienced this? Write about a time when you thought something was one way but it turned out to be totally different. Perhaps this was a person you misjudged, or an experience or place that surprised you and went against your predictions.

One time when I was at my grandparents I was hungry for a snack and asked if I could eat something. At the time there was not a lot of snacks because they needed to restock. My grandpa found a snack that looked like a cookie. He offered it to me and I asked what it was. He said he was not sure and I said it looked like a cookie. I tried it and it was not that... IT WAS GROSS. I still to this day am not sure what it was, but it did not eat it. I spit it out immediately after it entered my mouth. I hope to never eat anything that taste like that again. The taste continued to linger in my mouth for some hours after.
