In groups we found textual evidence for themes in Macbeth. Ambition (green), Violence (red), Guilt/Remorse(blue), and Foreshadowing/Irony (black). Then we needed original photography to illustrate the quote.4
I chose this quote for green because it is a representation of Lady Macbeth's ambition to make her husband king. She shows that she is willing to put in all the effort for what she desires. -Mia
This is a photo of my representation of the quote I chose. It is a literal representation of what Lady Macbeth wanted Macbeth to do.The figure is looking out and watching something, showing how Lady Macbeth wanted Macbeth to take the backseat and watch how to kill a man. - Mia
The reason why I chose this quote for red is because Macbeth intends to kill all of Macduff’s family and anyone who is related to him. This would be a very bloody affair with killing an entire castles populace. -Jaron
This is a photo of my representation of Jaron's quote. It is a photo of a figure holding two swords. He looks ready to kill. Just like how the quote talked about killing with swords this figure holds swords ready to kill Macduff's family. -Mia
The reason why I decided to choose this quote for black is because, literally the hands of Macbeth is filled with blood. He is scarred by the thought of killing Duncan because even though his hands are clean after, his mind sees it as covered in blood. -Chris
This photo is a representation of Chris' quote. It is a photo of a "bloody" hand, just as Macbeth would see. It is the literal representation of the quote. Yet it can also be interpreted as the stain of Macbeth's mind for his bloody deeds and all the future blood that will come to his life, whether from killing more people or from his own death. -Mia
I chose this quote for blue since this was right after Macbeth murdered King Duncan. Macbeth refers to both the literal blood on his hand but also to his sense of guilt. He makes it dramatic to imply that the blood could stain all of the world’s oceans red, meaning that his actions won’t be hidden easily. -Brett
This photo is a representation of Brett's quote. Just as the quote talks about washing blood away this photo shows someone washing "blood" away. I could not go to an ocean so the faucet water is the representation of the ocean washing away the "blood". You can still see some "blood" on the hand and around the sink because there was still guilt left even after all the blood was washed away. The leftover specks of blood is a metaphor for guilt.
