Journal: Weyward, Weird, or Witch? The Destiny Question in Macbeth

Updated: Apr 7, 2019

Instructions

Think about the concept of FATE.

- Do you believe some things are fated to happen, no matter what? Or do you believe your actions can change the course of your life? Explain with an example from life.

- If you were having your fortune told, what questions might you ask?

- What about things like astrology, fortune cookies, or Buzzfeed quizzes...do you tend to disregard them as silly or do they hold some truths for you?

I believe that nothing is truly fated. You can always change the outcome of something, take hold of your “destiny“. For example, it isn’t fated for people to be homeless or for some people to be rich. People who are rich usually work to get there or come into an inheritance. People who are homeless either take actions that end up with them losing most or all of their money. Or sometimes the market crashes and people get affect and become homeless.

If I was getting my fortune told I might ask something quite simple like what is something interesting or odd that I will do tomorrow that isn’t sleeping, eating, or work. I might also ask how I die or when will my parents or sibling die.

I tend to disregard things like astrology, fortune cookies, or Buzzfeed quizzes. Sometimes I’ll do quizzes for fun and read the fortune in a fortune cookie just because it is there. I do not take them as serious truths.
